October 2008 I have been working at the University of Oxford as a
post-doctoral research associate in the Department of
Earth Sciences. I'm part of the GRACE (Genetic Record of Atmospheric Carbon dioxidE) project, which will investigate the evolutionary relationship between marine algae and atmospheric carbon dioxide across the geological record. I carried out my PhD (on the molecular biology of photosynthesis) at the University of Manchester between September 2005 and September 2008. My undergraduate studies were 2:1 BSc (Honours) Natural Sciences at the University of Durham - after which I won a graduate school scholarship for my MSc in nature Conservation from University College London. Geography, nature and history have fascinated me all my life and my work and interests revolve around a mix of the three. |
